Minnesota Voters Allinace v. Mansky considers whether a state law that regulates speech inside of polling places in order to protect the integrity and fairness of the voting process is constitutional.
The brief filed by the Brennan Center for Justice, LWVUS and the League of Women Voters of Minnesota argues that the law is put in place to safeguard the right to vote. The brief urges the court to adopt a targeted approach and not strike down the statute in its entirety if the court finds the law problematic.
Arguments in this case will be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court on February 28, 2018.
