LWV Statement on Climate Executive Orders

Today the League of Women of the United States president Dr. Deborah Ann Turner issued the following statement in response to President Biden’s Executive Orders on Climate Change:  

“The latest executive orders clearly establish climate change as a major priority for our nation. Climate change is the most pressing global issue of our time, and the League recognizes that the federal government is best positioned to lead with climate policies that are consistent with the best available climate science.  

“This executive order is an important step, which the League supports and hopes will be the first of many in the long and necessary effort to ensure a safe and improved climate system for future generations.” 

The League of Women Voters sent a memo to the Biden Administration in December outlining the priority areas where we hope to work together including addressing the climate change crisis. Read our list of priorities for the new administration HERE.
