President Biden Signs Gun Safety Bill in Law
WASHINGTON — Today League of Women Voters of the United States CEO Virginia Kase Solomón issued the following statement after President Biden signed the bipartisan gun safety legislation:
"Today for the first time in thirty years, critical gun safety legislation is now the law of the land. For far too long, our country has endured horrific gun violence in our communities and in our schools. We applaud our elected officials for working together to pass important legislation that will save lives. This is what bipartisanship looks like, prioritizing people over politics to make our democracy a better and safer place for all. This legislation is a good start, and we look forward to the continued strengthening of gun safety laws in the next Congress."
