 2019 was filled with great moments for our citizen-led democracy. Here are just a few of our favorite highlights from the year.

We submitted comments opposing a rule that would cease to require tax exempt organizations, other than those incorporated under 501(c)(3) and 527 of the IRS code, to report their major contributors.

LWVWI filed a federal lawsuit challenging a planned voter roll purge based on unreliable data. Voters had 30 days to respond to a letter about their purge status, a timeline that is only allowed with reliable data. 

LWV of Georgia filed a federal lawsuit to stop an unjust voter purge from taking effect.

The League of Women Voters of Wisconsin filed a federal lawsuit to stop the unjust purge of over 200,000 Wisconsin voters.

The League joined the Census Project and other national and state organizations calling for full funding of the 2020 Census in the FY20 appropriations bills.
