Fighting Voter Suppression

I was thrilled to visit with over 100 students visiting Washington, D.C. through the Close Up Foundation to help explain how the League of Women Voters advocates on public policy issues at the federal, state and local levels.

The League filed a motion to stay a decision of the District Court of Kansas pending an appeal in the case of Kobach v. U.S. Election Assistance Commission.

In a big win for voters, a U.S. Court of Appeals ruled that Florida’s plan to purge voters before the 2012 elections was prohibited by the National Voter Registration Act.
