Why It Matters
The leaders we elect make decisions that affect our daily lives. Elections are our chance to stand up for what matters most to us and to have an impact on the issues that affect us, our communities, our families and our future.
What We're Doing
We host hundreds of candidate debates and forums across the country each year and provide straightforward information about candidates and ballot issues. Through print and online resources, including VOTE411.org, we equip voters with essential information about the election process in each state, including polling place hours and locations, ballot information, early or absentee voting rules, voter registration deadlines, ID requirements and more.

“As a part of our commitment to democracy, we encourage librarians to use their library’s website to promote Vote 411, a new tool the League of Women Voters provides that helps people register to vote, and offers information on voting requirements and state deadlines.”
“FLORIDA'S state primary is a month away, the presidential election is four months off and the Palm Beach County League of Women Voters (LWV) is busy. During the lunch rush at JFK Medical Centre on a recent Tuesday afternoon, several volunteers fanned out across the cafeteria, registration forms in hand.”
“The Ridgefield [CT] League of Women Voters launched its new social media program, Ridgefield Votes... at the Ridgefield High School Post Grad Party for graduating seniors. ... ‘It was a tremendous success,’ said Diana Drew-Fleming of the league. ‘More than 200 seniors participated.’”
