National Voter Registration Act (NVRA)

LWV of Texas filed a federal lawsuit claiming that the state violates the National Voter Registration Act by not providing voter registration with driver’s license applications online.

Voting rights advocates celebrated an agreement requiring the State of Arizona to provide more effective voter registration services.

The League of Women Voters of Arizona filed a lawsuit against the Arizona Secretary of State for violating the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA). 

The League of Women Voters of Arizona joined voting rights organizations in a lawsuit filed against Arizona Secretary of State Michele Reagan , nine months after notifying her office of significant federal voting rights violations.

Today, the Supreme Court heard arguments in Husted v. A. Philip Randolph Institute. I joined other advocates calling for an end to voter purges.

LWVUS and LWVOH submitted an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in the case of Husted v. A. Phillip Randolph Institute.

The League was cited in a ruling to extend voter registration an additional week in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.

The League joined Common Cause and Project Vote on an amicus brief to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in the case of A. Phillip Randolph Inst.

The League joined Project Vote and Common Cause on a brief in the case of A. Phillip Randolf Inst. v. Husted in 6th Circuit Appeals Court.

"We will appeal to protect the critical rights of voters in these three states, especially during this election year,” said Chris Carson, president of the League of Women Voters U.S.
