The League has joined a letter addressing the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, urging the Senate to make additional investments in state and local elections. 

The League sent a letter urging U.S. Senators to include $3.6 billion in funding for elections in the next stimulus package.

The League joined the following letter to condemn the U.S. Government’s decision to terminate their relationship with the World Health Organization (WHO). 

As campaigns prepare to file their latest campaign finance reports, the League has signed onto a letter along with its partners, asking candidates to publicly disclose information about bundlers.

The League joined members and affiliates of The Census Project , urging Congress to include supplemental funding to help the Census Bureau cover costs related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and its conduct of the 2020 Census. 

The League joined a letter with other environmental partners in support of H.R. 2, the Moving Forward Act. This legislation is a bold infrastructure plan that will transform our transportation systems, transition the nation to cleaner sources of energy,  invest in clean and safe water, protect workers, preserve nature, and address the challenges from a changing climate to our communities.

The League joined partners expressing support for H.J. Res. 90, a Congressional Review Act resolution of disapproval that will nullify a rulemaking by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) that, if allowed to stand, would drastically undermine one of our nation’s most important civil rights laws, the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 (the CRA).
 

The League joined coalition partners calling for passage of H.R.51, the Washington DC Admission Act. This legislation passed the U.S. House on June 26, 2020.

The League joined allies on a letter urging Senators to vote NO on a motion to proceed to the JUSTICE Act.

Earlier this week, LWVUS signed onto a letter addressing Congressional leadership on the deployment of federal troops to the District of Columbia against protestors.
