Parties in League of Women Voters of Minnesota Education Fund, et al. v. Simon reached an agreement to suspend the state’s witness requirement for absentee ballots.

COVID-19 is causing a shift in how elections will be held. 

Vivian chose to join LWV of Minnesota Education Fund v. Simon because she hopes that, by telling her story, she can make progress in dismantling subtle systems of voter suppression.

LWV North Dakota and co-plaintiffs filed a federal lawsuit to prevent the rejection of ballots due to mismatched signatures without notice

 A federal judge ruled that North Dakota’s process for absentee ballot verification will include a notification and remedy method for voters whose ballots are flagged for rejection due to signature mismatch.

The League of Women Voters of Kentucky filed a federal lawsuit asking the court to invalidate the state’s recently-passed picture ID requirement for voting.

The League of Women Voters of North Dakota filed a lawsuit asking the United States District Court of North Dakota to provide relief for voters from the state’s burdensome signature match policy.

  Afederal appeals court panel ruled in the League of Women Voters of Kansas case, Fish v. Schwab (previously Fish v. Kobach), that Kansas voters do not need to provide proof of citizenship when registering to vote.
