Today’s activity on Capitol Hill should have been a procedural exercise to finalize the 2020 election. Instead, our nation's Capitol was attacked by domestic terrorists seeking to invalidate the will of the people.  

Today, there is a critical runoff election in Georgia! Two US Senate seats that will determine control of the Senate and a Public Service Commissioner position are on the ballot. 

The U.S. House of Representatives introduced H.R. 1, the For the People Act, a sweeping democracy reform bill that was first introduced in 2019.

Any objection to this process is simply political theater which directly mocks and defies our Constitution. 

The League joined national environmental advocates opposed to the Department of Transportation’s midnight action to curtail National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) regulations.

The League of Women Voters is dedicated to ensuring equal rights and equal opportunity for all. This commitment led to LWVUS joining the legal challenge to Idaho’s Fairness in Women’s Sports Act which prohibits transgender women and girls, intersex persons, and any non-binary person from participating in sports.

In letters to the CDC and Biden COVID-19 Transition Team, LWV joined allies in laying out clear principles for COVID-19 vaccine distribution to immigrants.
