Primary and Municipal Elections in the Sunshine State Now Slated for September 26

Washington, DC and Tallahassee, FL - Tuesday the League of Women Voters of Florida (LWVFL)

LWV Florida filed a lawsuit asserting that Florida’s state legislature violated the state’s Fair Districts Amendments with its proposed congressional maps after the 2010 Census

Over 26 states have, or will soon have, online voter registration. The proposed online voter registration bills in Florida and Texas would provide thousands of citizens the ability to easily register to take part in our democracy.

"The League joined in this case to further the simple goal of protecting government that is transparent and accountable to voters,” said League President Elisabeth MacNamara.

2 months into the 2015 State Legislative sessions, we have seen a groundswell of assaults on voters in many states. We have been working to fight these threats and advance voting opportunities.

Gov. Rick Scott doesn't like to lose.

The League’s advocacy work in the courts, just like our lobbying in Congress and with the Executive, builds our influence in the political process.
