Watching the passage of H.R. 1, the For the People Act, was a spectacular experience. The League worked to build support for this legislation and shape the bill’s language.

This Women's History Month, we're highlighting some of our most prominent members. These women made great strides toward a more perfect democracy and inspire us to work toward the same goal.

This year, in addition to helping register a record number of new voters in 2018, 853 League volunteers dedicated 6,600 hours of their time to inform, assist, and engage with over 47,000 new citizens at the ceremonies nationwide.

Tuesday, January 31, the House Judiciary Committee held a hearing on HR1, the For the People Act. As legislators asked questions of the six expert witnesses, several strong arguments for HR1 emerged.
