September 19th dawned crisp and bright as DC citizens streamed into the Rayburn HOB to be present at the first DC Statehood hearing held by the House in 26 years.

On Thursday, September 19th, the House Committee on Oversight and Reform Committee will hold the first hearing on DC statehood in more than a quarter-century.

With just one more state needed to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment, we are closer than ever to ensuring that equal rights for all are guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution.

With a population of over 700,000 who pay more federal income tax per-capita than any other citizen of any other state, it would make sense for DC citizens to have their own state. 

June marked the end of our 2019 High School Voter Registration project. With a record-breaking 60 Leagues participating, volunteers registered a total of 20,115 high school student in 28 states across the country, plus D.C.  

On June 27, the Supreme Court held that it would not intervene in partisan gerrymandering cases, refusing to set a standard for when redistricting intentionally groups voters by party.
